Mélange de Trois Update and Other Exciting Label Developments

Many of you know that we are currently in a legal action with a large winery in California regarding our “Mélange de Trois” label. We thought we would bring you up-to-date on the situation.

First of all, the judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California in San Francisco denied a preliminary injunction against us to limit the sales of our Mélange de Trois white-Rhône blend. A win for us!

As well as all this excitement, we are doing a label redesign across the board (except the dessert wines). The rule of thumb is that a winery should update their label every three years, just to keep it fresh. We have been using the same basic design for the last 15 years or so, so we thought it might be time for us. Change is always scary, but don't worry! We've kept the madrone tree logo. The first wines out with the new design will be the 2004 Riesling and 2003 Shiraz/Cabernet.
